The name Hugel is as entrenched in the hillsides of Alsace as the vines they grow.   Hugel is a member of the famed Primum Familiae Vini; a group of 12 family run wineries including: Chateau Mouton Rothschild, Antinori, Vega Sicilia, and Champagne Pol Roger amongst others.   The estate consist of 65 acres of predominantly Riesling and Gewurztraminer with a large percentage of holdings in the Grand Cru vineyards of Sporen and Schoenenbourg.

We are incredibly excited to have Etienne Hugel joining us for Twitter Taste LIVE for August.  Etienne will be tweeting with us live from his home in Alsace and we have no doubt his keyboard will be on fire!  If you haven't visited the Hugel site, check it out at www.hugel.com to see one of the most advanced producer sites out there!  Be sure to visit the "Hugel Earth" vineyard map for a cool look at the vineyards.  Click Here

For the second event we'll be adding a new member to our group of blog hosts.  Co-hosting this month, we'll have Tim Elliot from the top wine blog Winecast.net.  Winecast was launched in 2004 and is the top wine podcaster on the web. Tim will be joining our panel of bloggers who include Catavino (I know Hugel is NOT in Spain!), 1winedude, Dale Cruse from drinksareonme.net, Richard from apassionatefoodie and bloviatrix.  I'm sure this list will grow before we pop corks on the 21st!

As always, to take part in the tasting be sure to follow binendswine and all of the other blogging hosts on twitter.  All wines will be available at www.binendswine.com at least 3 weeks prior to the event.
