Bin Ends Notes:
When you think of Argentina, you think Malbec and more specifically Mendoza, but that is far from the complete story! Patagonia is Argentina's most southern wine region and it's cooler climate, varied temperatures and extremely light precipitation lend create an ideal terroir for the slow ripening Pinot Noir grape. Patagonia runs west/ east from the Andes to the Atlantic, but the majority of vneyards are nestled into the mid elevation foothills to the west and benefit from cool dry southerly winds.
The Jelu Pinot Noir brings a smile to your face with the very first wiff. Ripe plum and blueberry aromas with a hint of wild herb. Juicy and fruit forward with good acidity, the aromas carry through onto the palate without skipping a beat. Good Pinot Noir is extremely difficult to find under $20, if you're a fan of the grape we highly recommend giving this great value a try!
