Bin Ends Notes:
Australia's Pikes winery has been hotter than hot for us lately. First the Red Mullet, then the fabulous Riesling, and now their terrific Clare Valley "Eastside" Shiraz.
This is a rich, juicy style Shiraz, showing off palate blasting flavors of raspberry jam, blackberries and cherries. Though it is rich, it is not overdone. Alcohol levels are in check and we think everyone will find this very pleasing.
Today's Once Daily offer is incredible. We're knocking our 120 bottles down to 50% off! Compare this at $30... Today just $15.00! You can't afford not to buy a few of these.
90Pts- The Wine Advocate: "The outstanding 2003 Shiraz Eastside reveals a similar ruby/purple color in addition to plenty of elegant raspberry and blackberry fruit intermixed with touches of licorice, damp earth, and subtle oak. Full-bodied and more powerful than the attack would suggest, this wine possesses considerable length and richness. It should age nicely for a decade."
90Pts- International Wine Cellar: " Dark ruby. Vivid, floral aromas of red berries and minerals could pass for pinot. Lush, open and sweet, with an elegant touch and surprisingly light weight for the vintage; fruit-driven flavors of raspberry and wild strawberry. Remains juicy and fresh all the way through the long finish."
