We've been on a unintentional Rhone blitz lately. Chateau Pesquié, Chapoutier and Ferraton offers have been selling out about as quick as we can type them. Why? The Rhone and Provence consistently offer value unsurpassed in France. No other appellation offers value and quality in vineyard sites that sit literally along side some of the most famous in the world (except Burgundy of course, but the value isn't as good). For every astranomically priced Cote Rotie, Hermitage, Cornas or Chateaunuef du Pape, there is a balance of incredible Cotes du Rhone, Crozes Hermitage and countless other value appellations to choose from.
Many of our loyal customers were disappointed that they missed our early week blow out of the popular Ferraton Crozes Hermitage. Since then we've set out to supply our clients with a worthy alternative, and damn! we've got it!
Many might remember the name Camille Cayran from offers past. This little domaine has been one of our hottest properties both online and in the Braintree store. The 2008 Cotes du Rhône "Le Pas de la Beaume" is exactly what it should be, medium in body, loaded with juicy berry fruit, and touched with a soft, bright finish. This is "quaffing" wine, lovely stuff that you'd find sitting on café tables in Valence or Nice.
