Bin Ends Notes:
Today's Once Daily is a blockbuster of a wine-one that you can enjoy now and cellar for a few years to see how it evolves over time.
The 2006 Elderton "Command" Single Vineyard Shiraz is big, luscious and complex. Awarded 94 points from Wine Advocate magazine AND Wine Spectator, it is "a glass-coating opaque purple. Aromas of scorched earth, pencil lead, sandalwood, meat blood, game, and blueberry are followed by a dense, voluptuous, layered Shiraz with tons of flavor." (WA)
"Ripe and brooding, it is...dark with black cherry, licorice, dark chocolate and wet earth flavors. This is complex and lingers easily on the open-textured finish." (WS)
Impeccably balanced and concealing enough structure for many years of cellaring, this wine can be enjoyed now and over the next fifteen to twenty years-a beautiful splurge!
