Situated on a plateau, Vouvray's unique terroir is defined by a deep foundation of tuffeau, a soft, porous, and chalky limestone formed during the Turonian age. This base rock retains crucial moisture while allowing excellent drainage. This, along with its continental climate and cooling influences of the Atlantic and the Loire river, make magic with Chenin Blanc.
With its majestic cellars in the heart of the Touraine, Marc Brédif has been one of the most famous Vouvray and Chinon houses since 1893. When Baron de Ladoucette took over the house in 1980, he breathed new life into the century old winery while preserving its traditions. Today, Marc Brédif continues to produce Vouvray wines of the finest quality.*
The 2024 Marc Brédif Vouvray has aromas of ripe yellow peach, green apple, pear, and quince layered with honeysuckle and hints of wet stone. The palate is medium-bodied, with flavors of lemon zest, pineapple, and pear with exotic tropical undertones. It is supported by a crisp, mineral-driven acidity and a gently rounded mouthfeel. The finish is long, with lingering citrus notes, mineral tension, and bright acidity.
